My computer recently disconnected while I was using Internet Explorer 5.0. Ever since then, whenever I maximise the program it does not fit to screen but moves over to the right and offscreen to the bottom. I have tried the Internet Explorer 5.0 repair utility, but this didn't cure the problem.

It looks as if some of the Registry data for Internet Explorer has become corrupted. The solution involves using the Registry Editor to delete this invalid data. This is potentially risky, so back up anything important before you start. See tip Back up the Registry
Close any instances of Internet Explorer. Launch the Registry Editor by clicking Start, Run. Type Regedit and hit Enter. Open the following Registry folders in turn: Hkey_Current_User, Software, Microsoft, Internet Explorer. Select the folder named Main. In the righthand window pane, select the item named Window_Placement and delete it. In the lefthand pane, open the folder named Desktop. Select the folder named OldWorkAreas and delete that too. Close the Registry Editor.
